Katherine Reuther

The Faculty Grant provides support to faculty who are developing innovative and technology-rich pedagogy and learning strategies in the classroom. Dr. Reuther will use these funds to support technology development and instruction for her new course, Graduate Special Topics: Biomedical Design, in the Spring 2015. Biomedical Design is a project-based team design experience for graduate students. This course will incorporate a blended learning program with core video lectures outside the classroom and collaborative in-class learning experiences, such as case studies, group exercises, coaching sessions, interactions with outside visiting industrial and entrepreneurial experts, and hands-on prototyping. Additional technological tools including project management and brainstorming tools will be utilized to enhance team interactions, creativity, and organization. The overall goal of this course is to provide graduate students with real-world training in medical device design and innovation.
