The Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University in New York City is looking to hire an ultrasound engineer for the development of novel imaging and/or therapeutic approaches. The candidate will help design, test and implement new ultrasound devices, design control software and customize for specific applications. Experience with computational modeling is desired.
The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining the functionality of the Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Laboratory and will be expected to apply for external funding opportunities. Associate Research Scientists at Columbia SEAS are junior officers who have demonstrated innovation and excellence in research. Applicants should have a PhD or its professional equivalent. Extensive experience in ultrasound signal acquisition and analysis, computer modeling and matlab programming are required.
Demonstrated experience in applications of high frame rate ultrasound imaging and large animal experiments is preferred. We also seek candidates with a strong ability to establish multidisciplinary research and educational collaborations with academic departments and units within Columbia University and other research institutions.
