Research Assistant:  MR Clinical Research

Casual Position with the Possibility of Permanent Employment Department: Radiology, Hatch Research Center

Hourly Rate:  $20.00

Description:  The incumbent will operate a 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla Philips magnetic resonance scanners in the conduct of MRI, MRA, fMRI and Spectroscopy acquisitions and reconstructions.  Responsibilities will include MR research laboratory organization, supplies maintenance and operation as well as research subject interaction for research data acquisition. Additionally, the Research Assistant will maintain a data base of all study related activities: do preliminary processing of MR data, analyze and implement measures of improvement, implement regular data backup, identification and implement restoring backup data as necessary.  The Research Worker will be responsible for the continued reliable operation of the MR systems by obtaining Philips maintenance as a priority. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree, plus at least 2 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.  Must have the ability to perform work in a neat, orderly and SAFE manner, with full knowledge of MR safety and ability to enforce safety regulations is a must.  Experience with administering computerized tasks, working with fMRI studies or with image processing a plus.  Computer literacy strongly desired.
