Nanotechnology Seminar - Prof. Morrison

Barclay Morrison III, Ph.D. is an award-winning Associate Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Columbia University. His research focus is traumatic brain injury, specifically, its biomechanics at the tissue level, as well as, the biochemical, genomic, and molecular pathways responsible for post-traumatic cell death. In addition, he is developing neural electrode technologies to better interrogate neuronal network function within the brain. He applies a quantitative approach to understand the relationship between mechanical injury parameters and the living biological response of the injured tissue. A long term goal of his effort is to determine molecular therapeutic targets for the rational development of interventional strategies and therapies to minimize post-traumatic cell death.
