Professor Elisa Konofagou Wins NSF Career Award

Elisa Konofagou, assistant professor of Biomedical Engineering and an expert in ultrasound imaging and therapies, has won a prestigious Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award from the National Science Foundation. The five-year, $409,000 award will support her research to develop a novel, noninvasive method for opening the blood-brain barrier using focused ultrasound techniques and facilitate drug delivery for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's.
